Rajkot: Bhausaheb Balasaheb Nimbalkar is one of the unluckiest sons of Indian cricket. He virtually did everything right, but his stars never favoured him. He scored an unbeaten 443 runs in a single innings, but was deprived of notching up the world record by 10 runs because of one of the most unsporting decisions in the history of Indian cricket. Nimbalkar scored 11 centuries in first-class cricket, but the much-awaited Test call to represent the country never came. Those who saw him play were of the opinion that he really deserved a place in the Indian team. A fantastic player

This must be the greatest regret in your career?I didn't like the approach of the Kathiawar team. How can they be so unsporting? Once I came to know that I was just 10 runs short of a world-record, I was desperate to achieve it because it would have put Sir Don Bradman's name behind me. But this didn't happen.Did you receive any communication from Sir Don Bradman?Yes. He was generous enough to sympathise with me. He said that he too was disappointed that his record was not broken.Do you have any regrets for not representing India in Test cricket?I think
