Guwahati:Team India discard Gautam Gambhir hit a patient 86 while Yashpal Singh scored an unbeaten half-century as North Zone got off to a sound start, amassing 252 for four on day one of their four-day Duleep Trophy match against East Zone here today.

Gwalior:Sourav Ganguly did not help his Team India comeback bid with a 16-run knock but under his stewardship, East Zone, after scoring 245 in their first innings and then reducing the hosts to 40 for three, seemed to have a clear edge in their Duleep Trophy match played here.

Kolkata:Sourav Ganguly will lead the 15-member East Zone side in Duleep Trophy beginning in Gwalior on Oct 19.

New Delhi:Riding on a brilliant unbeaten hundred by national captain Mithali Raj, Indian Railways beat East Zone by 177 runs in the Rani Jhansi Senior Inter-Zonal Cricket tournament here.
