I'm very happy, but record is down to teammates: McGrath
Glenn McGrath Potchefstroom: Glenn McGrath recorded the best ever bowling figures in the history of the World Cup on Thursday and then said it was all down to his teammates. The 33-year-old paceman took seven for 15 as world champion Australia crushed Namibia by 256 runs in its Group 'A' clash at North West Stadium, the biggest ever winning margin in One-day Internationals. "I am very happy," said McGrath whose figures took him to the top of the World Cup charts where he knocked off West Indian Winston Davis's 20-year-old record. However, he then said he wants to go one better against Nasser Hussain's men when the two sides meet in Port Elizabeth on Sunday. "I hope I can get eight now against England," said McGrath as he looked ahead to Sunday's match which England have to win if they are to have any hope of joining the Aussies in the Super Six stage. "But I can't compare this with any other bowling feat of mine - it was just my day. "But the batsmen did a great job reaching 301 and then Brett Lee did all the hard work from the other end with his pace. He really shook them up with the short stuff and I knocked them over. "My first over was a bit loose but I've been working on a new run-up and the ball is coming out of the hand well. I've been hitting the crease and I hope to continue my good form throughout the World Cup." Namibia was bowled out for just 45 in 14 overs, the second lowest score in World Cup history and the fourth worst in all One-day Internationals. The lowest World Cup score was made last week in Paarl when Canada was dismissed by Sri Lanka for just 36. Copyright AFP 2001
