Bloemfontein: New Zealand may have to rethink its decision to boycott its World Cup game in Kenya after the team lost its opening game to Sri Lanka on Monday. Fearing a repeat of November's terrorist attack on a hotel in Mombasa, which killed 15 people, the Black Caps had called for the February 21 game to be moved to South Africa. When championship organisers turned that down, the players, backed by New Zealand Cricket, said they wouldn't play in Nairobi. Although there are legal moves to still try and get the match moved, team captain Stephen Fleming admitted that the 47-run loss to Sri Lanka would put pressure on the players to go to Nairobi for their fourth game. In between, Fleming's team has two tough games against West Indies and South Africa. "It is extremely disappointing," Fleming said of the loss to Sri Lanka. "We built up for a long time for this game ... but it's not the end of our campaign by any means. "The situation with Kenya is that the process is still underway. It's an obvious thing to look at when the side loses, the pressure goes on," Fleming said. Monday's defeat meant a loss of four points, and New Zealand will lose another four points if it forfeits its match against Kenya. "We trust that the right decision will be made by New Zealand Cricket," Fleming said. "We've got total confidence," he said. Extras:
