Mumbai: Two-wheeler Hero Honda, one of the sponsors of the ICC Champions Trophy at Sri Lanka, was on Wednesday hopeful that the sponsorship issue with Indian players would be sorted out early and the best Indian team would participate in the championship. Hero Honda Motor Ltd managing director Pawan Lal, who spoke to Indian skipper Saurav Ganguly over phone in London about the launch of a new motorcyle, however, did not raise the issue with Ganguly, who is one of the brand ambassadors along with Yuvraj Singh and Mohammed Kaif. Ganguly said, "We hope to make it to the Champions Trophy." Munjal said he was hopeful that the sponsorship row would be resolved. According to Sanjay Lal, executive director of marketing agency Percept D'Mark, agents for some of the cricketers, the controversy should be settled by on Thursday as Ganguly was directly dealing with the BCCI. He, however, did not elaborate further. Later, when asked about the ICC controversy, senior vice president (sales and Marketing) Atul Sobti said, "I do not think it is necessary to add to complexities and we only hope the best team goes." "There are capable people handling the issue and let us not go into further controversies," he added.
