Sachin's day out: Meets Schumi, gets new Ferrari

London: It was rare occasion when superstar Sachin Tendulkar exchanged greetings with another sporting great Michael Schumacher.

It is not often that such glittering stars descend at one place and the photographs of the two offering tips to one another rightly graced newspapers throughout India and perhaps the world. That Tendulkar was handed keys to brand new Ferrari was pushed to the background and what mattered most was the sheer enormity of the moment when the two icons shed their formal facade and shared jokes. After nearly two hours of tete-a-tete the celebrated duo had dinner together on Saturday night. Tendulkar, a keen follower of Formula 1 and an enthusiastic driver - he is said to jump at the offer of getting behind the wheels - realised another dream of his, that of watching live a Grand Prix on a Sunday morning. Tendulkar joined the team in London on Sunday evening after his day out at Silverstone circuit. The Ferrari was a bonus for the little master for equalling cricket legend Sir Donald Bradman's feat of 29 Test centuries. The meeting was arranged by automobile major Fiat whose brand Palio is endorsed by both Schumacher and Tendulkar. The company also plans to feature the two legends in their advertisement campaign.
