Openers: Sehwag and Jaffer. Some folks raise an issue that Sehwag is not a specialized opener whereas genuine opener like S S Das deserves another chance.
I definitely like a blazing 45 from Sehwag who is not a specialised opener rather than a single digit score (mostly a duck) scored over a session by a specialised opener like S S Das. While Das' inclusion in 16 is still questionable, I am surprised to see claims for his place in playing 11. S S Das himself may not claim. Jaffer definitely deserves some extended opportunities. Middle Order: The big Trio, do I need to mention? (Dravid, Tendulkar, Ganguly). Sixth batsman: Laxman! He was the top scorer in WI and was the man-of-the- match on the only Test we won. He deserves to be in the 11 at least for the next 2 Tests. Some sentiments for Kaif. The only player vulnerable is Jaffer and somebody needs to promote himself to accommodate Kaif in the top 6. May be himself? Wicket-Keeper: For now Ratra! Pace Bowlers: Nehra, Khan and Agarkar pick themselves. Spinner: May be we should pick out of a hat! Kumble might lead with a 50.00001 %.
