McCullum ton crushes Pakistan

Abu Dhabi: Brendon McCullum starred with bat and Scott Styris with the ball as New Zealand beat Pakistan by 64 runs in the second day-night international here on Friday.

Scorecard

McCullum smashed131 to help New Zealand to post a challenging total of 303-8 in stipulated 50 overs. Later Scott Styris claimed three wickets to restrict Pakistan for 239 runs.


The three match series is now levelled at 1-1. Pakistan won the first match by 138 runs on Tuesday. The final match will be played here on Monday.

McCullum smashed 14 fours and three sixes in his 129-ball effort, only his second one day international hundred. He was finally dismissed in the 47th over, bowled off an inside edge by paceman Umar Gul.

Khalid Latif (45) and Salman Butt (59) were the only notable run scorers in Pakistan innings as they were folded up for 239 with 2.4 overs left.
