Hyderabad: Sachin Tendulkar rated his 175 against Australia in the fifth one-dayer was one of his best innings, even if the final result was " disappointing".
On Thursday, Tendulkar became the first man in the in ODI history to reach the landmark of 17000 runs.
Tendulkar scored 175 off 141 ball, en-route to his record 17,168 runs, but couldn't prevent India from losing the fifth ODI to Australia by three runs.
"It was one of my best innings, I was striking the ball very well and we were chasing 351 so there was constant pressure," Tendulkar said.
"We maintained the run rate and brought the game close, but in the end it was very disappointing."
On his personal milestone of crossing 17,000 runs, Tendulkar said: "I care about playing for India, it's a passion and I have been absolutely honoured to play for India for so long."
Australian captain Ricky Ponting also lauded Tendulkar for playing one of the best knocks in his 20-year-old career.
