Durban: Race to reach the semi-finals of IPL nears a tense climax as Royal Challengers Bangalore clash with Deccan Chargers on Thursday.
Delhi and Chennai have already qualified for the Semis and they are in No 1 and No 2 spots. The Deccan-Bangalore encounter will determine No.3. If Bangalore wins, Deccan will be in No 4 position and Punjab will lose out.
If Deccan Chargers beat Bangalore by a huge margin Punjab still have chance to qualify for the semis. Punjab can reach semis if Deccan thrash Bangalore by 68 runs. Alternatively, If Bangalore only score 100 runs, Deccan should reach target within 11 overs, then Bangalore is out and Punjab is in. Both are unlikely scenarios but Cricket is a game of surprises, miracles can happen.
