The victory lifted Rajasthan to third in the IPL points table. Mumbai would have gone to third with the win, but slipped to sixth.
Mumbai's hopes rested on Tendulkar(40) and Sanath Jayasuriya (16), specialist openers batting in the middle order, after three wickets had fallen for 23 runs but skipper Warne removed both the batsmen at the right time.
Earlier Rob Quiney and Ravinder Jadeja earlier boosted Rajasthan with a 61-run stand for the third wicket off just six overs.
Quiney top-scored with a 40-ball 51 for his maiden half-century of the tournament, while Jadeja scored 42 off 32 balls.
Despite Patel's standout bowling, Warne was named man of the match for taking 3-24 in four overs, including the crucial wicket of Tendulkar.
Warne trapped Tendulkar in front as he attempted to sweep after hitting four boundaries and a six in 30 balls.
