Gayle wouldn't be sad if Test cricket died

Gayle
London: Windies captain Chris Gayle gave a fitting reply to Andrew Strauss who criticised him for his late arrival from the IPL, saying the England captain should concentrate on his own team and he wouldn't be sad if Test cricket did not survive.

"stay out of other people's business". Gayle said to Struass on the eve of the second Test against England at Riveside.

"Focus on his team, don't worry about West Indies, don't worry about me. Tell him don't sleep with Chris on his mind, tell him get Chris off his mind."

Gayle said Strauss should be worrying about his future in the event of Test cricket's demise.

"I wouldn't be so sad if Test cricket is dead"

"Some other players would be. Maybe Andrew Strauss would be sad. Maybe he will be sad if Test cricket dies and Twenty20 comes in. Because there is no way he can make the change. So tough luck. I like Twenty20. Who doesn't? Maybe a couple of the Englishmen wouldn't like to play Twenty20."

Gayle said he wouldn't mind giving up the captaincy.

"To be honest with you there's a possibility I might give it [captaincy] up - I will be giving it up shortly," Gayle said.

I dont agree with the above comment that if test cricket dies it will not effect the cricket but , i must say that test cricket is best way to show your cricket skills , and it helps you to face the tough bowlers to stand in the middle ogf the pitch . In the cricket world we know the gr8 bowlers and batsmen . lke lara , sachin , chappael , murli, shane, ponting, , chanderpaul, stewart, nassir hussain, and many more to count . Cris gayle is the batsman who can play terror shots but he is not the authorized player who can decide that test cricket is good or bad for the cricket world or for the westindies .

I think Gale's comments are uncalled for . Just not needed. But he may have a point here....maybe not test cricket but One day cricket may see an end soon with the No. of T20 Games being played.
