Too early to judge Dhoni, says Kapil Dev
Kapil DevMumbai: India's cricket legend Kapil Dev on Wednesday said it was wrong to pass judgement on India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni's captaincy until he proved his skills in difficult conditions.

"We cannot judge his (Dhoni) captaincy on the basis of recent matches against Australia and England. It is too early to judge him," Kapil said on the sidelines of a press conference.

"Dhoni needs to show his talent and skill during tough times, which is more important," he added.

Former Indian captain said the Indian team was performing well and the players were looking in good shape.

"The boys are getting better and better with every game. Yuvraj is playing well and he should be given a chance to prove his skills," he said.

Kapil also had special mention for Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir and said the starts being given by the duo had played a crucial role in the team's fortune during the series against Australia.

The former all-rounder said he was happy that the ICL players had started getting recognition.

"The players have performed well and I am happy that their performance is being recognised. With more and more people recognising them, the players are encouraged to perform better," he said
