Melbourne: Former Australia eves cricket captain Belinda Clark joined swimmer Ian Thorpe, rugby league player Brad Fittler and water polo champion Liz Weekes as members of the NSW Hall of Champions.

Clark joined the elite league studded with Betty Cuthbert (Athletics), Dawn Fraser (Swimming), David Campese (Rugby Union) and Sir Donald Bradman (Cricket) and the 300 other inductees in the Hall.

"It's a tremendous honour really to join such esteemed champions," Clark said. "It"s also an honour to join Lynne Larson as they only other female cricketer in the Hall."

Clark, who has 4844 ODI runs with five centuries at an average of 47.49, retired in 2005 as one of sport"s greatest female cricketers after captaining her country to victory in an undefeated Women"s World Cup run.

"I really owe a great deal to the Sport and all the people in it for the lessons that it taught me," she said.

"I suppose moments like these are the times you really get to reflect on things like that."

Clark also captained NSW to five consecutive Women"s National Cricket League titles and until last season, she held the record of the most runs scored in the history of the WNCL.

Clark now works as the Manager of the Cricket Australia's Centre of Excellence (CoE).
