Warwickshire player tested positive for drugs
London:Dennis Amiss, English County Warwickshire's chief executive has confirmed reports about a player being tested positive for drugs.

"One of our players has given a positive sample and he will appear before an ECB disciplinary panel next week."

According to official sources, the player, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was tested at Edgbaston last month, during Warwickshire's championship fixture against Glamorgan.

In case the player is found guilty, he will be the second Warwickshire player in seven months to test positive for illegal drug use.

It is worth recalling that during last season, Graham Wagg suffered a double blow when he was given a 15-month ban by the ECB after testing positive for cocaine, and subsequently his contract was duly terminated.
