RCA to withdraw cases against govt regulation
Jaipur:The newly formed ad-hoc body of Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) has announced that it would withdraw all court cases filed against the sports ordinance, which was promulgated by the state government to regulate the sports associations.

Ashok Ohri, former secretary of the RCA and the newly elected chairman of the ad-hoc body which now supersedes the Managing committee of Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), said that they would withdraw all cases filed against the ordinance. He also announced that RCA will provide rupees one lakh for the victims of the killer tsunami.

The ad-hoc body, which came into existence under the light of new sports ordinance in state had its first meeting in which Ohri was unanimously elected as chairman.

The nine member ad-hoc body said that it would form RCA'S new constitution in accord with the sports ordinance and would also hold elections as per the specifications of the ordinance.

Ohri said that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had already been informed about the changes which has taken place in Rajasthan Cricket Association.

He said that the ad-hoc body has sought the list of bank accounts operated by Rungta in name of RCA and said that the nationalised banks would also be intimated about the changes in RCA.

There has been no change in cricket structure and the tournaments will go on as scheduled and Rajasthan Cricket Association would continue to field its team in various national level tournaments, he added.
