Bedi adds another chapter to declaration row
Dharmashala:Another chapter was added to the never-ending debate on Rahul Dravid's declaration at Multan that deprived Sachin Tendulkar a double-hundred with the legendary Bishen Singh Bedi justifying the decision, saying matches were played for the team and not for personal records.

"It was a right decision and we had a spectacular victory," said the former India captain who was in Dharmashala to launch his Cricket Coaching Trust.

Bedi compared India's win in the first Test over Pakistan, despite Tendulkar being stranded on 195, with the drawn fourth Test between the West Indies and England which saw Brian Lara notching up the world record Test individual score of 400 not out.

"The West Indes captain (Lara) did set a world record by scoring 400 runs but the match ended in a tame draw," the left-arm spinner said.

On the Coaching Trust, Bedi said it would have about 100 trainees including 50 from Himachal starting on May 15.

The visiting coaches at the camp will include Bedi's former teammate Erapalli Prasanna, Hanumant Singh, Yograj Singh and Javagal Srinath.

Bedi said he was willing to coach Pakistani cricketers if was invited.

He said he learnt more about the game after retirement.
