London: Indian fast bowler Zaheer Khan will not be playing for Warwickshire as an early season replacement for New Zealand's Shane Bond after talks between them failed. The English county is now looking for other cricketers to play for it after Zaheer Khan, its first choice as cover, could not confirm due to his international commitments. "We got to the stage of discussing a contract with Zaheer Khan, but similar to Shane he could not commit because of international duty," Warwickshire operations manager Keith Cook told the BBC Sports website. "We need a player to be available for five championship and seven One-day matches while Shane is away, and Zaheer felt he would be unavailable for two of the four-day games." The Kiwi tearaway Bond is set to miss the first two months of the domestic campaign because of international commitments with New Zealand. "We are looking at two other players, which I won't name, but we are closer to making an offer and should be ready to name somebody by Wednesday," Cook said.
