Vijayawada: A brilliant show of leg spin bowling by Sairaj Bahutule (6 for 41) helped Elite 'B' bowl out Elite 'C' for 247 and take the vital 143-run lead on the third day of the Duleep Trophy match at the IGMC Stadium on Saturday. Resuming at its overnight score of 49 for 3, Elite 'C' was bowled out for 247 in its first essay with Bahutule being the wrecker-in-chief, claiming six wickets for just 41 runs off 35 overs. At one stage, Elite 'C' faced the threat of a follow-on with half of its players being sent back to pavilion when the scoreboard read just 101 runs. However, a 92-run ninth wicket stand between Yere Goud and Nikhil Doru saved the day for Elite 'C'. In its second innings, Elite 'B' started on a shaky note as it lost three wickets for just 66 when stumps were drawn for the day. Opener Wasim Jaffer is inching towards yet another half century. he was unbeaten on 40.
