Bangalore: Elite 'A' which made a shaky start was 52 runs for the loss of one wicket in its first innings against Plate "B" which piled up a massive 569 runs in the four- day Duleep Trophy cricket tie on the second day on Friday. Elite "A" led by S Sriram which began its reply lost the wicket of its opener S Ramesh (4), who was clean bowled by speedster, B K Venkatesh Prasad. Sriram (16) who joined Daniel Manohar (28) ensured no further damage to the side and both were batting when the stumps were drawn for the day. Sharandeep Singh, who had scalped two wickets of Plate "B" on Thursday, found his pace, line and length on Friday, produced a devastating spell claiming six more wickets, to take his wicket haul for the innings to eight. Plate 'B' resuming its overnight score of 344 for two folded its innings scoring 569 all out. Sujit Somasundar (153), who was in great form on Thursday could add only three runs to his overnight score and fell to Sarandeep Singh. D Bundela (101) Vijay Bharadwaj (69), Sree Kumar Nair (58) and A V Deshpande (32) were the other top scorers for Plate 'B'.
