Bangalore: Ace spinner Anil Kumble, who many believe did not get a fair treatment by the team management which preferred Dinesh Mongia as the seventh batsman, on Wednesday declined to comment on India's performance in the World Cup citing contractual obligations. "I am on contract so I can't comment on World Cup. Only the captain (Saurav Ganguly) can speak on it", Kumble told. To a question, the "smiling assassin" said as he has just returned from South Africa and had not given any thought to his immediate future plans. He said he also did not plan to play in the county cricket in England. Kumble watched most of the World Cup action from the sidelines having failed to find a place in the playing XI. Among others who firmly believed that Kumble should have been given a chance was Pakistan pace man Wasim Akram. In a newspaper column published on Wednesday, Akram said, "Anil Kumble, with his experience and cool head was the man Ganguly missed in the final." India lost to Australia in the final by 125 runs on Sunday at the Wanderers.
