New Delhi: India 'A' kept its semi-final hopes alive in the Carib Beer Cup snatching a two-wicket win against Jamaica at Kingston. After conceding a 10-run first innings lead to the hosts, India rallied to overhaul a fourth innings target of 285 with nearly two sessions' play left on the fourth and final day on Tuesday. Tailenders Lakshmipathy Balaji (28 not out) and Avishkar Salvi (17) added 50 runs for the unbroken ninth-wicket stand which saw the visitors canter to victory 15 minutes after lunch, according to information received here. India 'A' is taking part in the West Indies first-class competition as an invitational side. It had earlier lost to Barbados and Winward Islands; drew with Leewards Island and Guyana before defeating Trinidad. India has 33 points and should it win its next match starting on Friday against bottom-placed West Indies 'B', it would be assured of a spot in the semi-finals. Jamaica gained four points from Monday's match, having taken the first innings' points. With 43 points it is already in the semi-finals along with defending champions Barbados.
