ACB names development squad to tour India
Sydney: West Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Ryan Campbell is the most experienced player in the 12-man squad named on Tuesday for an eight-day assimilation cricket tour of India. The Australian squad will spend eight days in India from March 20 experiencing sub- continental playing conditions and will play two One-dayers and a two-day game. Campbell, Mike Hussey and Brad Hodge have all represented Australia 'A' this season, while Chris Rogers is in the squad to play South Africa 'A' next month. "Playing cricket in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh is certainly different from the conditions our players experience here in Australia," Australian chairman of selectors Trevor Hohns said on Tuesday. "We have a duty to prepare players, particularly our developing cricketers, for the conditions, should they one day tour the sub-continent in a national side." It is the fifth such tour organised by the Australian Cricket Board.
