Hyderabad: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday filed an affidavit in a Hyderabad court containing evidence against former skipper Mohammed Azharuddin in the match-fixing scandal. BCCI counsel A Venkatesh submitted the affidavit before the court of the second additional chief judge M Vijayalakshmi, while its executive secretary Sharad Diwadkar flew in from Mumbai to make himself available for cross examination. The judge M Vijayalakshmi appointed G Neeraja as an advocate commissioner, who will submit a report to the court after recording the statement of BCCI official on the evidence against Azhar. After recording the statement on Tuesday, Diwadkar would be cross examined by Azhar's counsel Jagdeesh. In his main suit, the Hyderabadi batsman challenged the life ban imposed on him by BCCI in the wake of match-fixing scandal.
