New Delhi: India suffered its second successive defeat to England, losing by a huge margin of 90 runs to finish fourth and last in the mini World Cup women's tournament in New Zealand on Friday.Playing in the play-off for the 3rd-4th places, India was shot out for 101 in 43.5 overs after England, electing to bat first, had scored 191 all out from 48.1 overs.The Indians, whose only win in tournament came against England in a league match, were never in the run-chase, losing wickets at regular intervals.The promising Mithali Raj, who had missed her century by just two runs in India's agonising one-run loss in its last league match against England on Thursday, was once again the top-scorer of the team, making 26 while Sulakshana Naik contributed 23, according to information received here.For England, Sarah Collyer came up with outstanding figures of 3-9 from her 9.5 overs. Clare Connor also bagged three wickets.Earlier, England was helped by a fine 80-run knock from opener Kathryn Leng who struck eight fours in her 109-ball innings. In fact, Leng's was the only knock that held the England innings together. Apart from her only Charlotte Edwards (21) was able to cross 15-run mark.Neetu David claimed three wickets for 42 runs while Nooshin-Al-Khadeer and Jhulan Goswami took two wickets each for India. Australia and New Zealand will clash in the final of the tournament on Saturday. PTI
