Bangalore: Australias Cathryn Fitzpatrick became worlds first to bag a hundred One-day International wickets when she had Nooshin-al-Khadeer caught by Julia Price in the match against India on Saturday, in the ongoing World Series being played in New Zealand. The womens version of white lighting Fitzpatrick has achieved this feat in her 64th appearance for the Southern Stars.Apparently Fitzy did not realise about her record-breaking feat until she was informed about it by her teammates carrying drinks at the fall of the wicket."I didn't know at all, my grandfather knows those sort of things but not me," she said. "I knew it was close but I wasn't worried about it. It won't last long until someone else picks it up. But I suppose someone had to be first," she was quoted on a reputed sports web.She has attributed her efforts to hard work, more so during recent times. With backup from her physio, and a few tips she received from her former coach John Harmer she has been able to extend her playing career. While she is not aware how long she will be around, she feels there are a few oldies around to keep her company.
