New Delhi: Accepting the verdict of the High Court-appointed arbitrator to quash the five-year ban on cricketer Ajay Jadeja, Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) former investigator K Madhavan on Tuesday said a higher authority had the powers to over-rule its subordinates. "For every authority there is a higher authority. If one authority gives a report, the higher authority can change it. The High Court is an authority which is higher than the BCCI and myself," Madhavan, whose report on match-fixing led to the ban on Jadeja, told 'Star News'. "The High Court has given its verdict and it has to be complied with," he said. Madhavan said he had investigated the case to the best of his abilities. "I gave my report according to what I thought was appropriate based on the evidence that I had and the powers I had. On that report, the BCCI decided to ban Jadeja in its discretion," he said.
