London: Leicestershire batsman Darren Stevens signed a new two-year contract on Monday with the English county.
Stevens, 26, was awarded his county cap this year after a breakthrough season, which ended with selection for the England Academy. Leicestershire general manager Kevin Hill said, "We are delighted that Darren has committed himself to the club for a further two years. "He is one of the most exciting young batting talents in the game and has a big part to play in our future." Stevens' decision to stay at Grace Road will come as welcome news to the Midlands side, which has lost several players following the end of the last English season.
