London: Former England off spinner Shaun Udal committed his future to English country side Hampshire on Friday by signing a new two-year contract.
Udal, 33, who played 10 One-day Internationals for England between 1994-95, has agreed a deal to keep him at the Rose Bowl until June 2005 as the county continues strengthening for next season. Former England fast bowler Ed Giddins was recruited from Surrey two months ago while Australian left-handed batsman Simon Katich is expected to be unveiled as Hampshire's second overseas signing before the start of next week. Udal, who is recovering from an ankle operation, said, "Things didn't go as well as we'd hoped on the field last season but we're determined to put that right next year and I'm glad to be a part of it."
