'Significant progress in resolving players row'

Kolkata: The International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday made 'signBCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya with ICC member justice Ahmed Ebrahimificant' progress to resolve the contentious player's contract system to ensure participation of the best Indian team in the next World Cup.

"We are very close to resolving it (players contract issue). Significant progress has been," Jagmohan Dalmiya, BCCI president said after over four-and-a-half hours meeting with top ICC officials. The concerns of players, he said, were well represented and well received by the other side.Dalmiya was speaking after holding discussions with justice Ahmed Ebrahim of Zimbabe and Dave Richardson, who were representing ICC. Justic Ebrahim said, "There were certainly encouraging signs and the concerns of players have been taken into consideration." Though he refused to divulge further details, he said the meeting indicated that the best Indian team "is very keen to be at the World Cup. BCCI is also keen to send the best team and we are delighted at this."
