England's Foy gets double ton in 59-run win over Pak

Chennai: A brilliant double century by English player Nathan Foy and a century by Timothy Guttridge, ensured a 59-run victory for England against Pakistan in the Petro World Cup Cricket for the Blind on Monday.

In another match India scored a resounding victory against Sri Lanka by five wickets Posting a mammoth total of 432 for five wickets in its 40 overs, Pakistan could score only 373 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Nathan Foy, whose 232 came in just 125 balls and 10 fours, was declared man-of-the- match. He also took two wickets giving away 75 runs in his eight over spell. Guttridge scored his ton in 62 balls and four hits to the fence. Replying to the English score, Pakistan's M Ashraf Bhatti scored an unbeaten 109 in 83 deliveries with six fours, while Tariq Samuel posted an individual score of 76 in 42 minutes and with the help of three hits to the fence. The third chief contributor for Pakistan was the 56 runs scored by Sulman Elahi. Elahi used 39 deliveries and two hits to the fence to achieve his individual contribution. In the India-Sri Lanka clash, the Lankans posted a total of 263 runs all out in 39.4 overs. The Lankans also had seven run-outs in their innings. For the Lankans the chief contributors were C K Suriyaarachchi, who scored 69 (93 balls and three boundaries) and W U K Jayawardene, who contributed 31 runs in 46 deliveries. Replying to the Lankan score, the Indians achieved the task in 29.1 overs and posted 264 to win the match. L Shekar Naik's good knock saw a century eluding by a mere eight runs. He posted his individual tally in 90 deliveries with the help of three hits to the fence. Rajinder Verma was the other main contributor to the Indian innings scoring 54 in 42 deliveries, while Sushil Gourd's 50 came of 53 deliveries.
