Windies can take clear 7th spot with win over Bangla
Bangalore: West Indies, currently level on points with Pakistan in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test Championship Table, can move into clear seventh place by winning the forthcoming two-Test series against Bangladesh starting on December 8 at Chittagong, according to an official press release.West Indies will be the third ICC full member to play a Test series in Bangladesh since the introduction of the ICC Test Championship after Pakistan and Zimbabwe. If West Indies wins the series it will move up to 15 points from 17 series with an average points score of 0.88, only 0.05 lower than India in sixth place, the release said.Bangladesh is yet to register any points on the ICC Test Championship Table. A series victory will not be enough to lift it off the foot of the table, but would see West Indies drop back into eighth position. This will be the first time the two sides have ever met in Test series, the release added.
