Margao: Hosts Goa gained one point by virtue of its first innings lead as its four- day group 'A' Ranji Trophy league match against Tripura ended in a tame draw on Saturday. Tripura, resuming at its overnight second innings score of 13 for no loss, made 246 for 5 in 95 overs when play was called off after eight mandatory overs were left. The highlight of Saturday's play was a maiden century by Chetan Sachdev, who added 177 runs for the fourth wicket along with Ritesh Jaiswal (90) after Goa threatened to run through Tripura's batting claiming three quick wickets in the morning with the visitors' score at 45. Sandeep Dahad with three wickets was the most successful bowler for the hosts while Faizal Sheikh and Shadab Jakati took one wicket each. Goa, which has played two matches has one point, while Tripura is yet to open its account after two matches.
