Karachi: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday announced the dates for Pakistan's three One-day International matches against England next year.
The matches are to be played at Old Trafford, the Oval and Lord's on June 17, 20 and 22, PCB general manager of cricket operations Zakir Khan said. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the PCB discussed and finalised the schedule earlier this week, Zakir said. Before heading to England, the national side will play in the World Cup in South Africa in February and March next year, and then in April's Sharjah tournament in the United Arab Emirates. The International Cricket Council has tentatively scheduled Pakistan to host India for three Tests and three One-day internationals from April 8 to May 15, Khan said, but India has yet to respond. India is unlikely to tour Pakistan after severing cricketing ties as a protest against Islamabad's alleged support of insurgency. After the three-match tour of England, Pakistan will head to Sri Lanka for three Tests and three One-day Internationals. Pakistan played two Tests and a tri-series in England last year and is due to take a full tour of England in 2004.
