India to go ahead with New Zealand tour, says Dalmiya  Kolkata: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday dismissed doubts about the Indian cricket team's scheduled tour of New Zealand next month in view of the stand off between the cricket board and top players in that country. BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya said that the problem between the New Zealand Cricket Board and New Zealand cricketers was their 'internal matter' and had nothing to do with the Indian team's tour. "As far as BCCI is concerned, the Indian team will certainly tour New Zealand and will be happy to play against any team fielded by the New Zealand Cricket Board," Dalmiya said when his attention was drawn to the current problem in New Zealand cricket. Top New Zealand cricketers are on strike since October one demanding a hike in payments with the issue remaining deadlocked despite prolonged negotiations between the players and the board. The Indian cricket team is scheduled to tour New Zealand from December 4. During the one and half month long tour the visitors would play two Test matches and seven One-day Internationals. | Indian team unlikely to play fringe players, claims Nair  New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday watched with serious concern the pay dispute involving New Zealand's top cricketers which has cast a shadow over the Indian team's 41-day tour of that country starting at the end of this month. For the record, the BCCI said that it was too early to react but it appears unlikely that the Indian team would travel to New Zealand to play fringe players. The Board is hoping that the dispute will get resolved in the next few days failing which it would have a real problem on its hands. "It is still early to react. But we are in touch with New Zealand Cricket officials. We will talk to them first and get the feedback," BCCI secretary S K Nair said over phone. "We need to get first hand knowledge of what is happening there. Only then we will be in a position to take a decision," Nair said. He said the BCCI will continue to keep in touch with NZC and wait for a long as possible for the dispute to be sorted out.
