Bangalore: National Public School, Bangalore walked away with the winners trophy, scoring 100 points at the ESPN School Quiz 2003 conducted by ESPN Star Sports on Wednesday.
Sri Kumarans and Shishugraha were accorded the second and third places, scoring 90 and 70 points each respectively, in the regional round of the quiz in which 100 schools from in and around Bangalore, participated. While the runners-up trophy went to Sri Kumarans, the best banners trophy was given to Sacred Heart Boys High School and the prize for the best cheering team went to East West School. The teams were divided into six groups with two students representing each school. Dr Narottam Puri was the Quiz Master, while the prizes including trophies, cash and sports kits were given away by former wicket-keeper Syed Kirmani. National Public School will represent Bangalore city in the final.
