'India will be dangerous opposition in World Cup'

Mumbai: The Indian cricket team will be a dangerous opposition during the next year's World Cup in South Africa, team vice-captain Rahul Dravid said on Friday.

Speaking to reporters after launching the Britannia Industries' "Britannia Khao, World Cup Jao" promotion along with his teammate Virender Sehwag, Dravid said, "The Aussies and the South Africans are the first two favourites, but we can be very a very dangerous outfit to any team as we are playing as a unit. "If we continue to play the way we have been playing in the past six months or so, we can give any team a good fight and in One-day games the team which plays well on that particular day can win hence it is very difficult to predict the winner," the Karnataka star added. "We are satisfied with the way the team is performing at the moment and also with the way the individual members are coming out with match-winning performances," Dravid said. When asked about his new role as a wicket-keeper/batsman in the One-dayers, Dravid said, "I am happy with the way I am keeping now and it is difficult to say what will happen in the next four to five months. "However, if the team management wants me to keep wickets I will continue to do so," the stylish batsman added. Even before Sehwag could speak to the media, the organisers whisked away the two players from the rear entrance. Hundred lucky winners of the "World Cup 2003 scratch card" from India will get a chance to view the India-Pakistan match on March 1.
