Chennai: Indian coach John Wright on Tuesday said that India would have lifted the ICC trophy, if rain had not interrupted the finals replayed on Monday.
In an informal chat with reporters after the 15 member squad arrived on the conclusion of its nearly fortnight long tour of Sri Lanka, he said the performance of the team, notably of Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid, was 'superb'. Asked whether more pacemen would be included in the matches against the West Indies, he said it was for the selection board to decide. The Indian skipper, Saurav Ganguly, had arrived in the morning and left for Kolkata.
