Hinds' all-round performance puts Windies 'A' in command

Nottingham: Ryan Hinds turned in a notable all-round performance for West Indies 'A' on the second day of its three-day tour match at Trent Bridge on Thursday.

Left-arm spinner Hinds took three for 54 in Nottinghamshire's first innings 287 for nine declared. He then top-scored with 73 off just 75 balls including two sixes and nine fours in West Indies' first innings 223 for eight declared. At stumps Nottinghamshire was 38 without loss in its second innings, a lead of 102. Earlier one of Hinds' victims was 19-year-old Vikram Atri. The teenager had made 98 before Hinds had him caught by Runako Morton. After his bowling stint, Hinds steadied the West Indies 'A' innings when it was wobbling at 57 for three. Hinds, who has played two Tests for the West Indies with a highest score of 62, took charge and useful contributions from Devon Smith (31 from 21 balls) and Morton (33 from 31 balls) also helped keep alive hopes of a positive result on Friday.
