Bangla Board chief named Asian Council president

Dhaka: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief Ali Afghar has been named new president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) for a two-year term, officials said on Monday.

Asghar, also an MP from the ruling Bangladesh Nationalist Party, will succeed Tauqir Zia of Pakistan following Sunday's decision by the ACC at its annual meeting in London, BCB's director and media committee chief Zalal Yunus told reporters.
