India 'A' edging towards victory
Mombasa: India 'A' maintained their upper hand against Kenya in the first three-day match after consolidating their lead at the Mombasa Sports Club grounds on Monday.

Kenya were 191 at stumps at the close of play on the second day on Monday trailing India 'A' by 118 runs going into the third and final day.

With only two batsmen in hand, the hosts, who have battled against injury to their leading players including skipper Steve Tikolo, will need a miracle to win the match.

Tikolo, who suffered a calf injury on Monday, could only manage to score 13 runs before he was bowled by Piyush Chalwa.

The Indian leg spinner tore through the Kenyan order when he claimed four wickets for 31 in 11 overs in the hosts' second innings.

India 'A' had resumed their first innings in strong position.

Overnight centurion Pathiv Patel added another 24 runs before he was caught by Jimmy Kamande off Rajesh Varaiya.

But his partner Subramariam Badrinath helped consolidate their position when he ended the match unbeaten on 133.
