Miller leads SA fight back against Victoria

Adelaide: South Australian (SA) all-rounder Michael Miller took four wickets to lead a fight back late on the opening day of their Sheffield Shield match against Victoria at Adelaide Oval on Tuesday.

In reply to SA's first innings total of 149, Victoria was 94 for seven at stumps, trailing the home side by 55 on the first innings. Victoria looked in control after dismissing SA in two sessions. Only former Test batsman Greg Blewett (36 runs) and Mark Higgs (33) offered any resistance to a tight, well-drilled Victorian bowling attack. Blewett's wicket sparked a major late-order collapse, with the last six SA wickets falling for 24 runs. Paceman Will Carr finished with 4-42. Victoria started solidly, with captain Matthew Elliott (25) and Jason Arnberger putting on an opening stand of 37, but it lost 57 for seven in the final 23 overs. Miller was the chief destroyer with 4-22 off an 11-over spell. Graeme Rummans was not out on 27 at stumps.
