New Delhi: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Jagmohan Dalmiya on Wednesday hailed the selection of Kapil Dev as the Wisden Indian-Cricketer-of-the- Century saying "It was a fabulous achievement for one of the best all-rounders of the world of all time."

In a congratulatory message faxed from Kolkata, Dalmiya said, "There are very few cricketers of Kapil's stature and he deserves the honour." Dalmiya felt it was a case of 'poetic justice' in view of the behaviour of "some irresponsible and uncharitable individuals towards Kapil Dev in the last two years".
